My Teaching Philosophy

Why Do I Want To Teach?

It has been a joy to serve and love the students that I have had at Auburn University. My goal is to promote education throughout my career in a positive light as a way for students to grow inside and outside of the classroom. I have been taught innovation, creativity, and responsibility to always choose and advocate for the child as an Elementary Education teacher. I strive to provide a classroom that is a home for the students to be encouraged, challenged, and loved. Diversity is valued, and it is my job to devote my time to my students, faculty, and parents. Teaching is promoting more than education. It is promoting the student to find their own education through independent learning. At the beginning of my time at Auburn University, I saw teaching as something to do, but I found out that teaching becomes something you are giving to students. With this independent learning, they will come to love education more than they thought, and they will be encouraged to stay curious in the classroom. This is why I teach so that I can build up a new generation of students who work hard, challenge themselves, and make an impact on the community around them.
