Race Vs. Ethnicity

Working through "Race as a social construct," I realized how easily my mind is shut off to new ideas and new thoughts surrounding this topic. When you hear the word "race," your mind instantly connects it to a certain type of person. But something I would point out now, is that we are confusing race with ethnicity.

Ethnicity is where you are on a nationality, common group scale. In the book, "Race & Ethnic Relations," it says that there is no clear boundaries with race; therefore, how can we distinguish one from the other. We are all distinctively different from another person by percentages some of us don't even know. Race is, instead, a social construct because it has just been accepted by each social class without a thought. Taking it into consideration with this mentality, you will see the issues that lie beneath it with what has been stated above. Truly, after noticing this, people will see that it is just a social construct, nothing more.
